Merry Christmas folks.  10 degrees and just started raining.

Second of the family get togethers today and I'm not cooking this one .  One more tomorrow and then back to some form of normality for a couple of days anyway.

Not very festive weather here being grey and overcast but our relatives in Australia are complaining because they had a horrific thunder storm in the Brisbane area yesterday.
Just waiting for orders to go to daughters. I hope it’s not long, we had breakfast whist we open our his and her presents at breakfast time before muttlies walk.

Morning Boaby up! Dry and cool this morning with a touch of ground frost. Only 2°c now but should get up to 6° later, no rain expected expected so there's a washing out scratch head It would be a fine day for a walk but there's drink to drink, food to eat and toys to play with so I'm going nowhere biggrin

Hope you all have a great St Stephen's Day

A nice bright start with a chilly breeze for our walk. Muttly is total confused this morning because daughter gave his a special Christmas biscuit for his breakfast. He normally has a denta chew after his walk so he is wary about the extra biscuit. He really struggles with changes.

Easy one today, rain now, rain later, that's it. Might get up to 6°c but it's pretty irrelevant, no chance of us venturing out today.

Take it easy folks

Storm Gerrit has arrived.
It only seems a few days ago that we had Debbi.
Whatever the wind strength is, its enough to blow some water through the vents of our velux widows in the bedroom!

Dry until 3, then the heavy rain started and not stopped since, no chance of getting out for an hour or two.
My son up in Argyle has had to batten down the hatches ,trees and land slips blocking roads .
Take care have a nice day.

Blowing hard down here too although rain is beginning to ease a little after the overnight soaking. Forecast is not a lot better for the immediate future. Christmas was spent with our now only immediate relatives over here, Son, daughter in law and Grandson. It was great and very traditional, they have a small but beautiful old cottage on the fringes of Exmoor, no TV, very little phone signal and a log fire to enjoy. It was gorgeous and makes you question do we really need so many of these modern things and have we forgotten how to live a real life.
A day of odd jobs today, no plans to do anything outside then probably a film and a fluffy throw this afternoon, someone has to do it.
Have a great day all

Not as bad as some places here but the rain was horizontal when we went out for our walk. We only went as far as muttly needed before turning back. If he would go in the garden like normal dogs it would save us both getting a soaking but that’s the reward for taking on an older rescue dog that’s set in his ways.
Our son arrived mid morning absolutely soaked. He had to go into work to do a stock order before the pub started serving food. The cupboards were bare after it being manic including Christmas Day. We gave him a brew before taking him home.
He lives fifteen minits walk from work but if he goes by bus he has a five minit walk into town and a twenty minit bus ride. Today he is going back to work at four hopefully after the rain has eased off. It’s days like this I am glad I am not at the roadside doing breakdowns anymore.

The wind has arrived here, the trees behind our garden are bending much than than I've seen in the last twenty years.

We've had far stronger winds (even during non-storms) than todays.

It must be a combination of the direction and the amount of rain.
It could be interesting, given the forecast of five more storms over the coming nine days. shrugg

Up here in NE Wales we had a cloudburst for about 10 minutes and strong wind for around an hour, nowhere near as strong as other recent storms. All calm now with a clear full moon.

Update - wind back with a vengeance now together with short sharp downpours.

Vile morning here on Anglesey, everyone soaked twice today. Winds were very strong overnight and plenty of damage in the forest. 67mph forecast tonight!

Seven hours to get back home from Essex. A127, M25, MI, A50 and A515. Accidents, breakdowns and torrential rain makes for an average speed of less than 27mph over the whole trip..
