They are difficult to get in their natural habitat, partly because of poor light conditions but mainly because they know we're there even if we think they don't. We've seen many signs saying they are about but the only ones where we've seen them relatively closely were the sites at Blair Atholl, Blair Drummond and Thirtyshilling Wood in Comrie.

My son up in Reispol has red squirrels and pine martins feeding on the decking outside his property Tony, we had some in Saline before the grey ones from Dunfermline moved in.

Great if you can get the reds. A chap at one if the sites said they have an, ahem, arrangement to deal with grey interlopers rolleyes

That made me look back at my photos that are just sitting on the computer and not been edited and found this one taken at Balmoral Castle. I'll take that comment back I have one reasonable picture of a red.

Nice shot Mike. I do that all the time, look through my photos and find ones I completely forgot I'd taken. That's bad enough but it's worse when you look for the good ones you thought you'd taken biggrin

Beautiful sunrise, although cooler with moisture on the grass,no squirrels around, only ruddy gulls mobbing dog walkers. Mainly Herring and lesser black back gulls.
Noticed a family of crows sunning themselves on a nearby roof top, I can see why they call it a Parliament of crows when gathered together..
Have a nice day.

Dry but overcast first thing this morning, first signs of blue sky showing now, weather changes quickly here so hopefully an hour or so it will be sunny again. Full day of strimming, blowing and mowing ahead then maybe later if I have the energy do a bit more waxing on the van. allthumbz
Stay safe and have a good day everyone.

Heatwave this afternoon, so hot the wood stain was drying on application, ideal as I could apply two coats.
Had a Haddie fish supper earlier,so too full for a BBQ.   shrugg

Overcast here, but dry. Ideal weather, so spent a couple of hours mowing my lawns. Seven bags of garden waste ready for collection and recycling on Friday. Tomorrow is supposed to be sunny and 26c, roll on.

Just a wee shower of rain came on there at 6, fortunately we had our

Constant drizzle here with some heavy stuff predicted for later. Our latest burst of summer has now been downgraded to one day, tomorrow, with a return to unsettled weather on Saturday twiddle_thumbs
