directional tv aerial on Broadway
As I was cleaning my Broadway today I noticed that the wire spring that goes in the groove of the rubber gater at the base of the aerial had come out, so while I was sorting it I applied silicone clear grease that plumbers use to the extension pole and refitted the spring. It might pay to check yours.

Mine too on my Nuevo John if I fit it back on again the aerial is very hard to move around and adjust. Thanks for the tip though I will try a little lubrication as I've had to take the spring off as its too stiff to move.artheytrate wrote:As I was cleaning my Broadway today I noticed that the wire spring that goes in the groove of the rubber gater at the base of the aerial had come out, so while I was sorting it I applied silicone clear grease that plumbers use to the extension pole and refitted the spring. I have a directional aerial on my Sigma, I'm not going to the expense of changing over to a status aerial again, so I'm going to make do with my Avtex 200 aerial.
The Avtex usually gives a very good reception where ever we are in the UK.
Fresh water east was the only site we had the use the site coax on the EHU tower.

The factory fitted status aerial on my Broadway was about as much use as a chocolate fire guard. Got a satellite dome instead........ now sitting on top of the new van.

Finally the Broadway arrived Saturday. The status aerial is far better than the one normally fitted, excellent reception on my driveway whereas the teleco was useless.

The Status omnidirectional aerial that used to be rubbish has now in fact come into it's own with the roll out of digital TV over the whole of the UK. Up until last year mine was very poor even with the amplifier turned up to max. Now it gets excellent reception almost eveywhere, even better than tv watchers with satellite dishes when near trees etc.

We found the same when we had the flying saucer - good initially, then rubbish during the digital changeover period, then very good once changeover to digital completed and transmitters were on full power. Many folk went out and bought house-type directional aerials during the changeover due to their poor reception and many criticisms on forums. I wonder if any of those have tried the saucer since.
