Re: Weather
Very mild, dry and a little overcast but should be a useable day. Pressure washing again, fence is coming along nicely and great watching someone else doing the work for once, I could get used to this!
Have a great day all, careful if you are on the roof of that van Ian!

Re: Weather
I will do the roof of the Rienza but management has to supervise me. Hopefully she will catch me if I fall off. Polishing the rest of it is a must this year but it will have to be done in stages. My joints won’t take kindly to a full polish in one hit. Hopefully a weekend of dry weather will encourage me to get on with it.

Re: Weather
Same here keeping the van waxed is a bit at a time job over a couple of weeks, couldn't manage it all in one go.
Lucky with the roof as we have a high bank and I can step pretty much straight on with no need for a ladder.

Morning Boaby,
Not the nicest morning here. Only 5 degrees and raining and doesn't look like it will improve much over the course of the day.

Re: Weather
Morning all. Still raining but should drift east (soon if you belive the BBC or by lunchtime if Google are right) and leave a dry day. Cooler at a high of 8°c and that seems to be the trend until the weekend with snow being mentioned for high ground. After seeing that old Beatles album sell for nearly £5k, I need to check out my LPs......just in case

Like BB, just up the coast, dreich here this morning! Forecast to improve, slightly during the day...
Good excuse for further delaying the van polishing which didn't get started yesterday, as planned, either

It’s Ian’s fault the weather has changed. He shouldn’t have suggested washing and polishing his van.

Re: Weather
Of course it is his fault, if he hadn't spent half his life flying around in polluting aeroplanes we wouldn't be getting all this rain.... oh hang on a minute
Dry so far today, a little cloudy but still very mild. Good day for some grass cutting, two days of pressure washing down, plenty more to come but it is not getting done all at once these days as I want to be able to walk again afterwards.
Have a great day all

Re: Weather
Rained all night and still is slightly but thick fog until 10.30, very poor visibility with the rain and fog combined. Feels a lot cooler as well. Looking miserable for rest of day.

Re: Weather
Amongst other things that needing sorting today like a fresh gas bottle and my passport. I got a new hose from Screwfix. It dosnt mean I am going to wash the van but I can fill the tank without joining two hoses together now.
As a change we had a pub lunch in one of the villages. During lunch it rained hard for about fifteen minits. I will have a brew before swapping the connectors on to the new hose.

First group bike ride of the year today from Hulme End down the Manifold Valley and back. The forecast of light rain was a little optimistic but we enjoyed getting out anyway.

Re: Weather
Ah well, all good things come to an end. Heading back to the UK today after enjoying the hottest summer Northern NZ has experienced for many years. Despite sunny & hot days, it's getting cold at night now, autumn has arrived..
Last year it snowed heavily the week we got home, better forecast this time I hope.

Re: Weather
Gloomy and cloudy cover here now, 6c.
Welcome back Al.
Thinking it through, if you had summer down S, now it's autumn, surely it's logical to have winter snow when you return N!!!
I had.4 months in Falklands, July to October, their winter, more or less, got back just in time for ours!!!

Morning all, hope your trip home goes smoothly Al
It been raining overnight and appears on for the day with a high of 10°c later. High winds are predicted too. The change to a northerly will bring much colder conditions heading into the weekend. Got my shopping trolley token ready for today's fun

Re: Weather
Dull, cool at 7° rising to 12. 96% chance of rain today so that's another day to stay indoors. Got British Gas coming to fix combi boiler (shuts down and 'reset' light appears'), reported yesterday, so can't complain at speed of engineer coming.

Blue skies and light cloud, mild with it. Did think about getting the van out for a run but really want to make the most of the weather catching up on jobs outside, always plenty to do this time of the year.
Welcome back Al, sounds like you had a great Winter in the sunshine!

Re: Weather
Occasional showers and the chilly breeze is back here. Our window cleaner turned up whilst I getting the van ready. He said “I can tell you’re going away because the weather has changed”.
Muttly knows it’s van time. He has watched every move whilst I was packing. He dosnt move much normally but he is like our kids used to be when we are going away.

Re: Weather
Sort of nothing weather here today. Know that's hardly a meteorological term, but, some cloud, some breeze, 9c, dry.
Means I may have run out of excuses to not polish the van! Did the plastics yesterday with the fantastic mix of boiled linseed oil and white spirit. All looks like new again!

Re: Weather
I agree with Ian’s none metrology term for the weather. Even though I have the new hose pipe the van wash didn’t happen this week. Knowing the state of the coast road in North Norfolk there’s no point doing it until we come home.
Whist I was filling the water tank yesterday my naibor commented about my new hose and said he has bought news hoses as well. They are hoses for his fire engines so a bit big for van washing.

Morning all. We have sunshine and 50% chance of showers this morning and a bit less this afternoon. We have some non-food shopping to do this morning, bit too close to an M&S outlet store for my liking
