Re: electric step
Kicking the step all the way in might help - it has for me in the past.

Re: electric step
I am waiting for replacement to be fitted as have same issue, engineer suggested switching off main leisure electrics at ec500 which we are doing this trip, means fridge and charger disabled while driving but better than alarm
Switch on again when pitched up and step etc work fine

There will be a switch on the step frame that gets stuck . Nasty place for switch as blasted by road filth. Sometimes frees after application of WD40 or similar fluid. If that fails replace switch

Re: electric step
I had this problem on my last mh, a Chausson but the principle is the same. The switch was diagnosed as faulty when I returned it to the dealer, who said he would order a replacement. From Chausson. From previous experience I knew that means nothing will happen. Nothing has happened, and since then I have traded the Chausson for a Bourton and been away three times, for 5 weeks.George Collings wrote:There will be a switch on the step frame that gets stuck . Best to get a replacement switch from the step manufacturer or just dismantle it and clean some contacts / bend some contacts till they work. Personally I would have a go at dismantling and making the switch work.
Having said that when my Sargent 700 control panel started blaring an alarm at me because it was falsely reporting my engine battery was 0 volts, I dismantled the pcb and ripped the bleeping beeper out of the circuit board. Silence is golden! It won't do it again.
