Removal of satellite plate on roof
Hi I have the metal plate from a satellite dish or dome that is on my roof, there before I brought it.
It looks like it’s stuck on, I want to put a solar panel up there so would like to take it off.
Would I use a cheese wire & silicone remover?.

Be careful, I had a SD pad on my roof. Attempted to carefully remove it and gelcoat surface cracked and lifted. If possible try to leave as is.

Re: Removal of satellite plate on roof
If you use a framed solar panel it'll be about 25mm clear of the roof anyway and whatever that is will be under it. So no issues there.
If you use a semi flexible panel (and I wouldn't) then you could glue a material (plastic sheet?) of same thickness around it then glue the panel to that.
As Peter says, may be risky to remove and really isn't a problem anyway.....
Google Photonic Universe to explore both panels and accessories....

I’m getting the panel fitted for me so hopefully it can stay.

Studs might need cutting off though.

Be worth a good bead of sealant around the existing panel while easy to do........
