Not just chippy, our local pizza and kebab establishment of choice reopened a couple of weeks ago after their usual two week holiday in August, prices up 15% on July.
Our favoured Chinese still has a menu/price list on the wall, has large notice over it saying correct prices on website, increasing so fast even they can't keep up

Fish and chips at 14... Marton road used to do a " Golden oldies at £4.60, a good portion for us, with a wee dod of Haddy for Tag.
Changed hands to a local chain of chippies , so we are back to the POB ,it's further away and hard to find parking.
Enjoy your fish suppers where ever you are.

Just had very good fish chips and peas at a pub in our old town area, £11.45 less 25% for being over 65 years old.

One of our local pubs is advertising fish and chips for two at £11.90 every day. A recent review described the meal as tasting like cardboard
Not enough tomato sauce then

Re: £10 fish supper, or fish and chips
I’m It is not just on holiday. It should be an added deterrent on the path at home. I don’t think there is much need for security on Continental sites. I have found the reverse. People treat the starving Brits to presents of unwanted items. We have had an awning mat and several useless gadgets give to us.
But we do not totally trust any aires overnight, especially at service areas. My precautions won’t deter serious bandits, but will deter sneak thieves who rely on campers not waking up. We met a member a few years ago whose locks had all been destroyed whilst he slept. They got away with his trousers. So remember to take your wallet and keys out of your pockets.

Must have changed owners since the last fish supper we had there 5 years ago, over priced ,over cooked and an a cardboard box.
Local supper prices have stayed high during the tourist season here, fortunately we have the Pride of Brid ,locals can get a traditional fish supper.
Enjoy yer suppers.

My experience also BB.
Visited a busy chip shop in Cromer before the pandemic 6 years ago and it was superb. Went back last year and the quality was shocking, not only that, a flat dry piece of cod was over £9 on its own!! Don’t get me started on the chips.

Found bar in Cormellies France last year with fish and real French fries, under 14e. Will be back there soon.

Re: £10 fish supper, or fish and chips
We were in Polruan a week or so ago, £12.50 for fish and chips, we decided to pass on the restaurant. Excellent scampi and chips from the Ford Transit parked outside the site for £7.50 and they had a 5 star hygiene rating. Way to go.
Worst ever fish and chips from Premier Inn at Warrington, I first asked what sort of fish it was and the waiter had no idea. When it eventually arrived, I had to ask how long it had been deceased because it certainly wasn't recently. Awful, even the gulls would have turned their beaks up.

Re: £10 fish supper, or fish and chips
Not fish and chips, but I hope close enough to be allowed.
Last summer my wife and I had a warm walk in to Arisaig from our site and as we approached the pub, I spotted a couple outside tucking in to a pint of prawns each. They looked delicious, so as my wife popped in to the bar for our cool beers, I thought I’d treat us and went in to the adjoining fresh sea food shack and ordered a pint of prawns each.
“£42.00 please” !! Yes…. £21.00 a pint
To make matters worse, the couple I first spotted wandered off through the car park and I heard a very distinctive engine fire up, before they pulled away in a new Aston Martin.

Re: £10 fish supper, or fish and chips
We visited Bridport Devon a decade ago and was recommended a fish and chips kiosk on the front, only one opened at lunch time so my wife ordered to fish suppers and waited about 10 minutes , she was handed to two suppers wrapped in newspaper , looking forward to a couple of fresh haddock suppers and tastey chips.
What a disappointment to find two uncooked formed fish pieces ( like factory made), chips half cooked too. Don't know what she paid for them, even the Gulls rejected them.
Had hoped to get some fish suppers in Whitby next week, however we have had to abort at short notice due to the wife being under the weather, hopefully get there in June.

Bridport is still in Dorset, Boaby, (no offence) but you’ve reminded me of a useful stopover on the A35 just west of Bridport near Eype. It’s not meant as an overnight stop but some vans do. It’s a very useful rest break with toilets and a snack van.
Sorry, off topic.

Can't help think there's some profiteering going on. We have a group of three modern pub/restaurants owned by the same family within a few miles of where we live. I had a sit in fish supper, a large fillet of Haddock ( available battered or breaded), real chips (not frozen), peas and tartare sauce for £13.50

2 Medium Haddock fish suppers this lunch time, cost £20.20 from the Pride of Bridington on the Quay road.
Town was very busy with trippers enjoying their fish suppers and getting dive bombed by the gulls, only in town for an eye test ( trek pavers )
