New kid in class

Hello, I'm currently living a Glastonbury and about to purchase an Autosleeper monocoque, having trashed my Sprinter camper this spring. Based on say, a 1994 model, what are the comparisons between the VW T25 and the Transit version? I feel the Tranny would be better re maintenance ans spares as they are pretty bombproof, and the VW looks relatively dated and clunky in comparison. And it would be an automatic. Any help would be great.

It wouldn't be on a t25 but a t4.
