Quite windy and overcast down here today but dry, looking at the weather maps looks like West Cornwall is poking out from under the greens and blues so we should be alright! Even a little sun promised this afternoon.  Still trying to sort the plumbing issues, I fear 'hog castle may need an expert to install a new boiler and totally replace a now ageing heating and plumbing system. EXPERT definition .... A has been and a drip under pressure. Hope I can find a plumber that isn't!

So much for a red sky at night etc. Fantastic sunset last night and been pouring down since the early hours. No sign of any let up so quite day by the fireside (heater) for us  biggrin

Which site near Forfar, Tony..... is it Forestseat?     Friends have recommended it to us a while back when we went to Forfar Lochside.
Shame about the weather.

It is Bob. We've been to the club site before and it was ok. We just wanted to try somewhere different. It's well laid out, modern facilities, has a restaurant next door and a nature reserve nearby. The weather has limited our getting about but that's camping in October in Scotland  shrugg

Can confirm rain is apocalyptic in Forfar today..just been out to check garage and found that roof isn't as watertight as it should be.

Bridies got done in at lunchtime and great they were. Hope your garage roof is repairable BB, we're taking the wimp way out and leaving a day early tomorrow. As well as all the heavy rain and surface water, we've got a drop in mains voltage so neither fridge or heating will work on leccie. As a famous man said, nuffs enough   Whistle1

Still nice and mild, a brief weather window until the next front heads our way.
Lots of soggy leaves to collect, brown bin is almost full.
Have a nice day.

Thanks, checked this morning and not as bad as I thought yesterday, looks like combination of prolonged heavy rain and unusual wind direction found a weak spot in a seal between two corrugated sheets, will be easy enough to reseal.

Thanks Boaby and GH, we got back without incident. A couple of the roads around Forfar had significant standing water and another was covered in thick mud washed off a farmers field. The police had signs up well before warning drivers to slow down.

Thankfully the site we were on must have outstanding drainage, last night there was significant amounts of standing water after several hours of the heaviest rain I've ever seen. It continued to rain right through the night but, much to my amazement, there was little evidence of it this morning. Despite being tempted to stay another night as planned, the forecast for today and tomorrow was not great so we live to fight another day hugegrins

Heavy rain eased off in the early hours, ground is soaking with surface coming out of farmers fields, deep puddles to avoid.
Feel really sorry for the folk in France/ Italy with their heavy flooding and landslides.
Keep warm and dry.

Lovely day yesterday, got all the washing dry outside. Brief showers last night and it's a dull, damp morning with heavy showers to come. At least it's not too cold.........yet think_smiley_46

Sunny blue skies one minute then raining the next, blowing a bit as well but at least it is fairly warm. Quieter day forecast for tomorrow, hoping to get some leaf blowing in today but not ideal in this wind. Have to get outside doing something though, spent most of the day yesterday flying around the caribbean on the flight simulator whilst it rained and blew outside, not good for your health sitting around like that!

Cooler, fresher wind. Clear blue sky, really amazing how deep blue the sky still is, hardly see or hear any commercial jets these days. Only the odd Military jet or CG Helo.  broomstick
