Didn't bother going out at our usual dawn patrol as it was teaming it down, managed a brief walk with Tag for his ablutions during a weather window.   rainyday
Should clear later.

Woke up to thick fog this morning and it’s still quite dense. Really autumnal.

It's drying up a bit here (Kirkby Stephen) but we had torrential rain overnight. Heading to Hawes later where I hear there is tropical sunshine forecast for our stay  Whistle1 Ok, it looks like days of more rain  shrugg

Showers in poldarkland today, quite warm though and very little breeze. A good day for tidying up the garage ready for the next round of work.

This epic photo was taken in Lantzville, east coast of Vancouver Island yesterday. It had been 33 degrees the sky did this and as our daughter described it a biblical thunderstorm shook the house the likes of which she had never experienced before. Makes you wonder where we are headed! Weather - Page 5 Image110

Gorgeous photo.

Just over 15 years ago, in July, we had a terrific rainstorm and had surface water flooding the front of the house, luckily not into the house. We’ve had heavy rain many times since then but, last Wednesday, we had an incredible storm with thunder and lightning, hail and high winds as well as sheets of rain. And the first floods since that July. I suspect it’s not going to be 15 years before the next severe storm.

We've had 50 mph plus winds all night and morning and if anything it's now stronger, with forecasts of around 65mph tonight.
I've just managed to cut the hedge and the lawn as everything has dried out so much.

The new campsite I mentioned upthread has all but cleared this morning.
There's one tent still in situ and a couple of small camper vans have arrived and parked in another (higher) field but are tight against a large hedge.
I may venture down to Newgale this evening to see what the situation is there.

We had a cracking day today in the Yorkshire Dale's, breezy but warm and sunny. We were tempted to stay another day to miss tomorrow's forecast of rain and high winds but we're heading home in the morning shrugg

Still dodging the showers at dawn Dave, winds ramping up and keeping the clouds on the move, still mild.

Cool and settled here this morning. The journey home yesterday was, ahem, challenging Whistle1 At times the wipers, on full blast, were struggling to cope with the wind and rain. Talk about a white knuckle ride uncertain

Sunny spells and a lot less windy, same as Boaby big clean up this morning, debris everywhere from the trees. Spring tides, rip currents and big swells at the moment, not so many on the beaches but sadly still people entering the water when they really shouldn't, two deaths in the last two days sadly Seventeen rescues across Devon and Cornwall by the RNLI in same period.
