Thunder, lightning and rain here for a short time yesterday, a house about two miles from us was hit and caught fire. Don't know if the house was saved by the fire fighters, but the roof was well alight at one point, according to a local news report. Very sad for them.

Turned out to be lovely day here, so much so that the gardener is out cutting the grass. I'm keeping my head down in case she asks for my help  snigger

Still raining with brief rest bites to get Tag out, hopefully we will see the tale end of this low pressure weather heading off into the North Sea .
Water butts filled anyway.

Skies have cleared leaving a chilly easterly onshore breeze, temperatures well down on last week, however had a good walk with Tag, noisy Dawn chorus, looks like the Blackies are going for a second brood. It's all go with the nest building.

Overcast, light breeze but not a bad day in West Cornwall to day, time to finish grass cutting! Woodpeckers, Jays, Buzzards and all manner of smaller birds around but the a number of cats that seem to be living in thees parts are having a field day. Sadly not sure what to do about it.

Started off with bright sunshine this morning but it's clouded over and the temperature has dropped to 15°c. Rain is expected early afternoon so the BBQ will stay in the cellar. Might get a walk, if we're quick  twiddle_thumbs

68mm of rain fell overnight at Mumbles Head near Swansea. That's just under 2.75 inches in old money. That's a lot of rain.

Hate to rub it in Boaby but lovely sunshine here if a bit breezy. Ideal weather to put second  coat of paint on my gates after the first got slightly wet yesterday afternoon!

We have had a soggy day here. I just managed to get muttly to the end of the street between showers this morning.
When we went to Lidle this afternoon the rain really came down just as we shuffled along to the canopy. I have been a couple of times this week with no waiting to get in. Today there were about six of us queuing to get it.
When we came out it was not too bad until management put the bag down and found the yogurt had split, yuck.

Not a happy bunny. Been a miserable day today so worked on finishing the refitted integral garage, nearly done as the heavens opened and I noticed water appearing from the roof, climbed into the loft and it is dripping fast through the sarking felt of course right by an electric connection. After realising I am no longer 20 and climbing in a shallow roof void, getting a mouth full of insulation and cutting my arm on a jagged piece of wood it became clear there was no way I could do anything from the inside anyway. Don the waterproofs ( that's not their name by the way) get the ladder out and on to the roof and it is still hammering down. Find what I think is the problem and effect a sort of temporary repair with a plastic bag and a clean out of the roof void have no idea if it is still leaking but now beyond caring. Still raining!

Soaked, fed up, sick of not being as agile as I once was and just wanting a bath and a stiff drink.
