PEUGEOT OIL PUMP RECALL Empty PEUGEOT OIL PUMP RECALL

Post by terry chapman Sat Jun 06, 2015 3:14 pm

We bought a new Peugeot broadway in sept last year and have been very pleased with it .On contacting our local Peugeot last week I found out there was a recall on it .They have been most helpful and replaced it this morning. I am posting on here because if I had not contacted them I dread to think what would have happened if the oil pump had failed while we are away in the south of france in a couple of weeks.Iwould point out that it was stock and not ordered from my AS dealer so I don't know the build date.

Hi there,

Brilliant Post. allthumbz allthumbz

Could you please go to "Edit" and put "Peugeot" and whatever models are involved in the recall in the "Title" section.

It will help concentrate minds!! hugegrins

Best regards,
drinksallround

edit:
For you sir, your suggestion has been done up!   --- roli

I posted about this a while ago and when I had the van serviced in April, no one at Peugeot knew anything about a recall.. Of course!
I might have to give them a ring on Monday

Idont know what other models are involved ours is a 2.2 boxer the last of the old cab. We put her on the road on the 1/9/14 .Because we bought from Marquis Ipswich ex stock I don't know the date of build. I would assume she was built within the year. I contacted John Grose Ipswich on another matter and this recall flagged up as outstanding .I would say they could not have been more accommodating and got it in on a Sat morning. I posted on this site in case others with similar vehicles want to contact there Peugeot main dealers. An oil pump failure would be a complete disaster in the middle of someones holiday.

Hi Terry. What was your mileage when you had the van done? The original recall notice was for high mileage vehicles and some other reason I can't remember!

So, I rang the Recall Helpline and they told me mine wasn't on the recall list.
I wish I felt confident about that!
Anyway, we are off to France for 6 weeks on 19th, the van has covered 15500 trouble free miles, so maybe they are right....
But......
I was reading the LR Defender forums yesterday and over a few pages, the Land Rover rep went from saying he knows of no recalls for the oil pumps on Ford Puma 2.2 engines fitted to Defenders, to checking with dealers to see if they had replaced all the parts they were supposed to when the recalls came through!

I checked with my garage. Not all vehicles are subject to recall -it depends on pump that was fiited. BUT if oil pressure light or low oil pressure message comes on STOP IMMEDIATELY was what I was told.

That's good to know, John. As we have similar age vans I can relax a bit. Away in Europe at the moment!
