No breeze, sunny and warm after heavy overnight rain, beautiful sunrise at 6.30, shorter walk with Tag due to the weather last night.
Have a nice day, take care if your traveling.

Good lightening storm last night, rain so heavy we had to turn the telly up. Only lasted about 20 minutes.

More heavy overnight rain after a cracking day yesterday. It's dry and overcast but you get the feeling that rain is not far away. Got to get a shift on and get moving before the cycling tour of Britain shuts the town down  quick_run

We beat the cyclists but not the weather. Torrential rain almost all the way to North Yorkshire with some serious flash flooding made it a rather tricky journey. At one point we had to queue to get through the deep standing water on the road, made it ok but my wet locker really is a wet locker  Whistle1 Now on site being entertained by thunder and lightning and very heavy rain  shrugg Did somebody mention drought  rolleyes

Left the last place in 25 degree sunshine now ba k in Brittany after driving through biblical rainstorms and thunder it hasn't stopped. Warm but we have arrived by a lake where we have to pay but stuff trying to find the office in this. Anyway bears are allowed to park by lakes without being questioned.
Decided to stay an extra couple of days having seen the shipping forecast, rough or very rough isn't for me these days.
Enjoy your travels all those away and take it easy. Saw a young lady take the side of a motorhome out with her little citroen yesterday, no injuries but debris and bits of motorhome all over the road.

Dry and still this morning, big change from last night. At one point two of the three northbound entrances to Forfar were blocked last night, Kirriemuir junction has overbridge so still able to get in to town, then still had to be careful as road outside Aldi was flooded, no great surprise as it used to be part of the !och.

We now have two northbound entrances open, but most southerly, and highest road is closed due to mudslide, reports are tens of metres long and over a foot deep with mud. May be closed a few days meaning most traffic from town now using road in front of our house leading to McDonald's exit. May move from lounge to the sofa in dining room at back of house.

Stay safe

In classic style, we got very hot sunshine yesterday after the stormy weather passed. The beck looked seriously high but gradually subsided to just high. It did get a little showery in the evening. Today has started off much the same, dry now but overcast and more rain about.

That junction now also has KFC, Greg's and Starbucks..sign of the times I suppose. Before moving to Forfar in 1990 used to use Little Chef near Brechin when travelling to or from North easy, preferred coast road before dual carriageway built in 1990s

Before MacDs came on the scene, we used the Little chefs too BB, loved the Olympic breakfast, good value too. Shame to see them go

As I explained to our overseas visitors, it's now a rule. McD, Gregg's, KFC and Starbucks on out of town sites, you don't see one without the others  shrugg

We hit that mud slide a couple of years ago when leaving Forfar, we were able to drive through but it was not funny. It's been a decent day here, walked over the fields to the local farm shop and got (probably) the best sausage roll ever. Did a bit more walking in warm sunshine and even had a BBQ. We're now settling down, the wind has turned cool, there's thunder and the sky is very dark.

I think you're going to need a coat on the dog walk tomorrow Boaby  scratch head

Near St Brieuc heading along the coast to Roscoff, pretty windy and heavy showers which of course caught us out on a long walk. Really liking the new aires where you pay a few bucks but get leccie and a decent pitch without someone parked a few inches away. Cost us 10 euros tonight but worth it.
Take care all

Out before dawn Tony rain hasn't started yet, although it's not far away, can see the dark clouds coming in from the n/e.
Tag has a 3 peaks water proof coat Tony, with a wee hood ,problem is he's prone to ear infections if he get the inside of his ears wet ( he came to us like that with an ear problem )
Take care if your traveling, have a nice day.

Vagaries of UK weather, it started raining heavily (and noisily) here during the night and has only let up in the last hour or so. On the plus side it's not cold. Heading over to Pooley Bridge tomorrow so I hope the roads are better (drier) than when we came  shrugg
