Peugeot 1.9TD engine wanted

The engine in my 2000 Peugeot Talisman GX has failed. It runs but probably has a bent con rod. I went to start it one day and it was like the battery was run down. However, it turned out to be hydraulically locked, no idea how water got in. It has not lost any coolant. My friendly mechanic has had a cursory look at it and comes to the conclusion that it has a bent rod. A shame as it has only done 67,000 miles or so. What I need is another known good engine, or someone who would like to buy it to repair. I would sell for £2000. Everything is good except the engine. I am in Norfolk.

About £700 for a 2nd hand engine, fitted. They do recons too, but that's going to hit you around three grand.

Well, that's one way to run a business....

That engine was fitted to a lot of vehicles, pugs, Renault and Citroen, so I'd guess you stand a good chance of finding one. (Think it's the XUD engine?)

Quite a few on the bay of E, but buyer beware there I guess.

We used to use Car Transplants a lot (Nantwich Cheshire) but they've gone now, bought out by a company in Winsford, who I've never used. CT used to ship nationally... A friend bought a 200tdi off them and had it shipped up to Caithness.  Last time I shipped an engine it cost me £50 for the courier! So, it's worth looking further afield.

I have just spent about an hour and a half looking on ebay but can't find one.
