Bourton Microwave Empty Bourton Microwave

Post by lucasg Sat 16 Dec 2023 - 19:00

Mine has largely packed up as well as being too difficult to use. Has anybody replaced it..what would you recommend ?
How do you get the existing one out ? I guess it is screwed in from underneath?
How did you secure the replacement?

Bourton Microwave Empty Re: Bourton Microwave

Post by Appretice Wed 20 Dec 2023 - 17:20

Hello lucasg
I took out the microwave from my Bourton very soon after buying it - to save having to carry the extra weight. We travel 'off-grid' mostly in France and it is a luxury we decided we could do without.
Removal was easy, just a case of taking out four screws which also serve to hold the cabinet feet to the base.
Removal of the microwave exposes connections to the 12v electricity supply for the tv and the tv aerial connections. I constructed a protecting cover to ensue that the space gained by removing microwave could be utilised for extra storage safely.
Removal of the microwave also exposed the vent in the side of the van behind the space. Now temporarily blanked.
