Christmas is early again!
Perish the thought that I should have to be grumpy again. We have a lovely local park that we visit a couple of times a week. Two lakes, waterfall and lots of ducks, geese, swans etc. A great cafe with all day breakfast and ice creams, crazy golf and tennis courts. Why am I grumpy I hear you ask? There is an information centre run by “The Friends”. Unusually this evening, although it was closed, the lights were on with a volunteer inside. They were in the process of putting up Christmas decorations. Large round plate shapes….robins, reindeer, snowmen and other winter scenes, proudly displayed in the window. I can say no more other that I claim this year’s earliest Christmas sighting ……. sigh……bah humbug.

Re: Christmas is early again!
One year I complained, at our local garden centre, that they were putting up Christmas decorations before the end of British Summer Time.
The girl at the info desk looked out of the window at the grey weather outside, and replied, "Does it look like summer to you?"

Just been to Home Bargains. Halloween stuff along a full aisle but next aisle absolutely chock-a- block with full range of Christmas stock, Christmas trees, baubles, tinsel, Santa statues, Advent calendars etc etc. It's not September yet!

Going to the Harwich one on Friday. (2300 ferry!)
The real problem is that to have shelf space for xmas stuff, all the useful things you would like are in the storeroom or maybe back at base?

Guess it's official now, had an email from M&S telling me their Christmas shop is now open
We are also now getting the usual parade of "celebs" on TV telling us why we should buy their new books/record/DVD etc

Go to your local garden centre, they are all in the throws of putting Christmas stock out, clearing away the garden furniture to make space.

Retail Experts.
I work in a Garden Centre and we do start to change over to our Christmas Shop in September as we do every year and the customer comments are as predictable as they are annoying.
"Christmas already! Summer isn't over yet".
Ignoring the fact that I didn't notice that we had a summer this year I have to point out that the Christmas Fairy does not help out with goods in, pricing stock, storage of garden goods, hiring seasonal staff, shelving stock and decorating the shop so that people can start to moan early. It will not be until the middle of October before we can have our Grand Opening and that will have taken a massive effort from staff so that customers can experience the season.
Yes, you will see seasonal goods appearing but nobody is forcing you to buy anything and we would not place the goods on display if we couldn't sell them and believe me they sell even now.
Happy Christmas.

Send the lot back to China , only my view.
More important things to pay for these days, like food and house bills.
Again only my view.
Oh!! And let me be the first to wish all members, "merry Christmas".
