Habitation door lock
Hi
I have a 2018 Broadway I have a problem that the habitation door doesn’t lock when using the key fob although the cab doors lock and the step retracts. I can’t hear the solenoid operating should I be looking for a fuse also if I do need to remove the trim from the inside of the door advise on doing so would be helpful
Thanks Mick

Welcome to the site Tomo, you have come to the right place for friendly and informed advice.
I had the same problem with my Nuevo and it was solved by cleaning the four contact pins at the top of the hab door and the adjacent receiver points, sounds complicated but they are easily found when you look for them.
I used very fine emery cloth to clean the contacts but anything that will remove the film build-up should work.
I hope this works for you, I was given this from another member and pleased to be able to pass it on.

Thanks maclid
Cleaned up the connections but no joy I was never going to be that lucky.
I put a multimeter on the connections on the door frame and pressed the key fob a little tricky on my own but I did get a reading of 12 volts so it looks like taking the interior trim of the door and investigating further

Hi Mick
If you type in Habition door into the search slot, you will find lots of posts regarding door locks, I know the older van hab doors had wear and tear problems, mine included.
Some members posted links to manufactures blow up diagrams of the hab doors,I cannot remember who it was.
Hope this helps ?

Re: Habitation door lock
just a thought, If you have used the manual key in the habitation door recently to unlock it, you may find the lock mechanism fully open, try locking with the manual key and then try using the fob again.

I had a problem with mine which sounds as though it could be the same as yours. As you say 12 volts are registering at the door frame
it is probably a wire that has come adrift where the contacts are in the door itself. Remove the screws holding the small panel to the door
and check to see if the two wires are still connected. One of the wires had broken, I managed to carefully pull enough wire through to make
a new connection. If the wires have been connected with only a short piece of wire pulled through, with the constant opening and closing of
the door the connection can break.
