Van 240 supply not working
Afternoon
We are on site hooked up
All was ok then suddenly no electric
The 12 v works but the mains doesn’t have checked the cable and that seems ok
Have tested the main trip switch and that works
Now I’m stuck
Any ideas please
Is there a fuse in the van that could have blown and if so anyone know which one it is.
Cheers Heather

If you've tripped at the bollard, check whether you have 16 amp supply or maybe only 10 amp supply. Did you switch something on at the time of losing power, maybe faulty appliance?

Not for 240v, the trip switch takes care of it.Bugboy65 wrote:Is there a fuse in the cab that might have blown please
Have neighbours got power? We were on a site in Pickering once where whole site kept tripping out two or three times a day.

Try another hook up and ask your neighbour if they have electric

Re: Van 240 supply not working
All sorted now Thank you everyone
Looks like you have to wait after resetting the trip
For it to work again
But still don’t understand why it went off in the first place.

There is nothing about an RCD that would make you wait. From what you describe, it sounds like you have a minor electrical fault, and the most likely candidate in my experience is an electric water heater. Did you have yours switched on at the time?
[P.s. Fault-finding tip: If you press the "Test" button on the main RCD circuit breaker and it trips the breaker off, you have mains coming into the van - the "Test" button will do nothing if the EHU is, for example, tripped at the bollard.]

Re: Van 240 supply not working
Do you have anything like high load appliances like space heating, hot water, coffee machine etc switched on?
If so they may be clicking on and off on their thermostats, which if both happened at the same instant could possible cause a surge overload?
The other item to watch for is a microwave initial burst but I assume that's not the case here as you mentioned you were just sitting at the time.
