Devon corner steadies Empty Devon corner steadies

Has anyone ever tried fitting corner steadies to an Autosleeper Devon (or Stanton which is virtually the same thing).  We used to use them occasionally on our clubman and miss having them on our Devon.

I'm surprised you've not got them. The Devon has same body as Nuevo and my Nuevo had them but that could be that the chassis is different.

Yes, very similar to a Nuevo but on a Mercedes Sprinter chassis.

That's interesting, looking underneath I couldn't see the chassis finished quite a way before the back of the body but I did wonder if I could bolt the to the tow bar frame.

The corner steadied could have been removed when the tow bar was fitted

We have corner steadies on our Nuevo and in 7 years I have used them only once! The only use that I can see for them is if you are slightly nose up on a pitch when they could save using ramps. .

This is the most likely I think.

Ours were certainly removed when a tow bar was fitted, and others have reported the same.

Devon corner steadies Empty Corner Steadies

Post by marconi Wed Jul 17, 2019 6:03 pm

The only difficulty I have had with removing one of the steadies on my 2019 Nuevo yesterday is due to them being fitted by a moron with a big ill fitting spanner. Corners on all the Nyloc nuts damaged and one overtightened to the extent that the threads on both the bolt and the nut are wrecked, it was very difficult to thread the nut all the way off the over long bolt.
I was expecting better workmanship from AS.

I have recently bought a Stanton, I have reversed with the steadies down and bent the threaded bolt. I have ordered a replacement steady and will have to swap them over. Are you able to offer advice or tips?

Bent my steady screws same way,was able to straighten screws in vice.Removal is relatively easy 2 bolts at back 1 at front M 8, spray with WD 40 and let it soak.
