Toilet sanitation Empty Toilet sanitation

Post by Doonhamer5 Thu Dec 28, 2017 10:49 pm

Hi, I’m a newbie here, so apologies if this has been asked already - I’ve done a search of old posts and can’t find this specifically....

We’ve recently bought an Autosleeper Malvern, 2014 model, luckily it doesn’t seem that the toilet system has been used yet smile!

Some research has shown that it seems like a good idea to use Lidl biological washing fluid in the cassette system... can you do this without fitting a SOG system, or do you need to / should do that as well?

I recently fitted a SOG system in my son's motorhome to eliminate toilet smells entering the living area. It is entirely successful in resolving this problem. Had the ventilation in the toilet compartment been adequate, this probably would not have been necessary.  He also uses Elsan blue in the cassette.     Keith

Thanks.  I think we will try using the Lidl fluid without using a SOG in the first instance.  Any advice on quantities/techniques welcome smile!

The SOG is a system of blown air that eliminates the need to have a chemical in the cassette. It does blow the smell over your neighbour on site.

Been fulltiming around Europe for over a year in our Broadway and always use Lidl Formil "activ" liquid. Just a capfull into the bowl, flush it down and empty it every 2 or 3 days. We use our toilet "fully" to be polite about it and have never experienced undue odours.  We have seen the Thetford  Blue at 19 euro a litre in some places. Lidl Formil a couple of quid.  No brainer.
