New Mazan owner Empty New Mazan owner

Post by talos Tue Jun 27, 2017 2:07 pm

Hi new Mazan owner here,
My name is Bob and I hail from West Wales on the coast, I have just acquired a Mazan auto sleeper hi top. I'm a retired engineer with itchy feet longing to get on the road and explore.
I am in need of a awning free standing, what do other owners recommend for this model ? , what do you use, and think of it ?

We don't seem to see that many Mezan owners on the forum - I guess in terms of numbers made it's actually quite a rare van.

I believe the Mezan is very similar in dimensions to the high-top Romahomes (in fact some say it's a direct copy!) so you may find that an awning designed for one of those will also suit a Mezan?

Like mojo says we don't appear to have many Mezan owners on the forum, yet I see these models often on my travels and there always seem to be one for sale at most of the Motorhome shows... I'm always amazed how much space they have inside for such a compact vehicle! There is one locally, owned by an elderly lady that I see fairly often.

By the way can you pop into your profile and change your avatar pic, as it's showing the photo bucket upgrade image up!

Welcome to the forum up! Saw a Mezan on the Jedburgh CCC site over the weekend and thought it looked an impressive van. There was also a small VW conversion, of a similar size, on the same site with a drive away awning attached. Good advice from Mojo about looking at Romahome fit ones, alternatively using the maximum and minimum of the height and width measurements should allow you to do a web search.

Thanks to you all for your comments, we are just getting to grips with the van now still no overnight stays yet but getting organised. We have ordered a "Handi" awning which should be enough for our needs.

To all fellow Mazan owners
Does your back door window open ? ours looks like it should but has what looks like factory fitted stops fitted. If its not meant to open why fit a flyscreen? Just curious. confused3

The window in the door of our Nuevo sounds the same as yours. I've often thought of removing the stops to see if it hinges at the top but then again it would make it easy for a bad lad to open it and reach inside to open the lock.

I agree, another possibility I just thought of is if it was left open slightly when traveling it may suck the exhaust fumes into the interior, It looks as though the stops were fitted as an afterthought by the manufacturer, possibly as an H&S afterthought. shrugg
