New Nuevo ES - BHP Empty New Nuevo ES - BHP

Post by cgorms Sun Sep 06, 2015 11:12 pm

Hi,

New to ASOF, I'm looking to buy a new AS Nuevo ES from Marquis Leisure really like the van layout and usability.  I have a few issues in that in the brochure it says the Peugeot Euro 5 engine is 150bhp but the one on display and at their other branches are 130bhp, this is misleading and feels a bit underhand??

Also notice a few other bits mentioned in the brochure aren't in the van i.e. USB Ports and LCD Control Panel.  And lastly the price on Marquis Leisures website is £3,395 cheaper than the one on the forecourt, the specs don't match.

Anyone on here purchases a New AS Nuevo ES/EK this year, had similar issues?

Many Thanks,

I think the Sevil made vans have various options which the convertors choose and you may look at the same van again later or somewhere else and see the options you are expecting to see.   The only other possibility is old stock.

Our Broadway is a March 2014 model and has a 130bhp engine. From what I understand the engines were upgraded to 150bhp for the latest 2015 models, so your 'new' 130bhp Nuevo maybe a 2014 model, old stock!

Arn't the manual vans 150bhp, but the "auto" only 130 bhp, for some perverse reason?

Hi, I am going to get my NuevoEK from Spinney at Knutsford (subject to the correct deal!!!) I had a Swift Kon-tiki from them and the service was great. Dealt with them for 4 years with servicing and problems, nothing too much trouble.

AS website currently quoting 130 bhp engines for coachbuilts, but 150bhp for Van Conversions, manual and auto are the same .

The AS brochures are often out of date.

Its confusing. I downloaded the latest AS brochure and it shows 150BHP Euro V engine or 130BHP Euro V engine in Fiat with Comfortmatic gearbox.
Looked on Motor-Plus.co.uk website and they are selling a 2015 Nuevo ES with 130BHP engine.
I guess the solution is to ring Autosleeper and ask about the engines in the latest Nuevo ES.
To be honest, the 130 BHP Euro V engine is pretty nippy in my Broadway FB

I think the OP's point is that he is being asked to pay £3,400 more, for something that cannot be clearly identified.

I'm sure we could all agree that an extra three and half thou's of goodies would stand out like a sore thumb up!

I think the price difference is similar to what the Premium pack added to the list price on the 2013/14 models. There are other dealers that are selling similar vans with Premium and Winter packs included for a lower price.
The OP also brought up the engine size difference. As far as I can make out, the 130bhp engine should be a Fiat unit with  comfortmatic box, but the van specs in the leaflet say it is a manual and according to AS latest brochure, the manual should have a 150bhp unit.

But AS website says different. AS brochures are not current spec.

Perhaps they used up all the cheap 150 chassis they got and have reverted to base spec 130.

I got a response from Auto Sleepers...

Nuevo ES is only available with a 130bhp engine at present, this is because it is built on the Peugeot Boxer short wheel base 3500kg chassis which is only available to us with the 130bhp engine.

The Nuevo EK model however is based on the same wheelbase, but crucially is built on the lower 3300kg rated chassis which is available from Peugeot with the 150bhp engine, essentially its this anomaly that lead to the error in our brochure I’m afraid.

I would sooner have it in writing from the people building it, AS. Perhaps Spinney are just reading the brochure, which is wrong, apparently.

Hi, If it says 150 BHP on the official order form, then its good enough for me...if its not as ordered I will simply reject it! simple.
I am going to see Auto Sleeper at the Birmingham Show where Spinney will be, so i will get them both together as well....and of course report back.

Regards
