Habitation Door Hinge Covers Empty Habitation Door Hinge Covers

Post by Windsurf1 Mon Dec 19, 2022 10:29 am

Hi, seasonal greetings all. My 2010 Devon lower habitation hinge cover refuses to stay in place. I've bought a replacement from AS but it has come with two small pk screws to be fitted internally. Is the rear of the hinge accessible by removing the internal soft door panel to secure the outer hinge cover with the screws supplied please?

Thanks IanH. Previous owner/myself have tried various glues including instant, araldite and looks like no nails! II think the problem is that the cover is fitted to the hinge not the door itself. I guess further dismantling internally to see if the screws can attach the cover to the metal part of the hinge.

Its a very long time ago now but I somehow fixed wooden blocks to the hinge and screwed the covers into the wood. Don't have the van anymore so cant inspect.

Open the door fully and the screws (hex socket head) are visible on the door edge. Remove screws and then slide cover to rear to release the tab.
