Post by Motherhen Wed Apr 04, 2012 12:17 pm

Hi everyone,

I have just purchased an old Renault Autosleeper, model RCX. Me and the old man were getting too old/arthritic to sleep in a tent with our son any more so thought we would try out this campervan.

It seems to have all we need but we know next to nothing about them or how things work, so expect a few posting on the 'what do I do with this bit' forum pages.

Kind regards to all

Hello Motherhen (what a great name smile! )

Hello From Manchester.

Whens your first trip ? and where to ? (I know I am curious)

Dont worry about asking lots of questions everyone was there once upon a time.
With our first van we took stuff (duvet, cutlery etc) out of the house each time for a couple of trips before we realised that duplicates help. Forgot the tin opener and corkscrew once and had to borrow one.

Hi from Wales Empty Thank you for all the greetings :)

Need to kit the old girl out before embarking on an adventure.

One of the things I am having problems with - the shower.

I have a little shower room with a built in water heater. There are clips on the wall for a shower hose, but I have no idea where the hose is or how it is attached. The only 'access' I see to the boiler is a small vent grill below it. There does not appear to be a pipe spigot anywhere.

Does anyone have one of these RCX Trafics? Can they explain the shower mullarky?

Thank you

P.S. South Wales - to the person who wondered :)

Welcome to the forum Motherhen.
I am not familiar with your van but I believe that in some vans the shower pipe is formed by pulling out the mixer spout in the wash basin to reveal a long hose. Could your van be like that??

Hi Motherhen
Welcome to ASOF, I don't have an RCX but one of my club (www.rtmr.org) members does (we used to have quite a few but they've "disappeared" ) I've sent him an email asking about your shower.
