Post by Mrs ploppy on Fri Oct 28, 2016 8:34 pm

Hi has any member expreinced the glue breaking down on the tape that joins the fabric on the ceiling and walls also on the trims around the draws and doors, we have a 65 plate Broadway EB, purchased new in January 2016 we contacted A/S they informed me that I need to go back to the suppliers which we did and the did re glue joints this has know turned yellow on the ceiling joints and the wall joints, we have been back again 80 miles round trip 2 months ago they say they are testing the glue, as they say it must have been a bad batch so I assume that other vans may be affected

We have the same problem: new Winchcombe in Dec 15, tape started lifting in May/June in France. Now most of them are curling up at the edges.

Van is booked in for 1st hab service with A/S end of November, and we have mentioned that tapes are lifting, were told they will "sort it".  OH thinks they need replacing, as the glue will now have particles of dust etc etc stuck to it.  Because the tape is curled and has been in that position for a long time, it will not be possible to stick it down again.  Also, we don't want the brown glue marks, as reported in an earlier post.

Auto Sleepers replaced all our taped joints within a few weeks of buying our van in 2014, now out of warranty and they are all lifting again.

Well, perhaps we should take some copydex with us when we go and ask them to use that!
