Exterior storage box Empty Exterior storage box

Post by BVMC Thu May 05, 2016 4:06 pm

Has anyone bought an exterior storage box from http://www.savaspace.co.uk/exterior-storage-boxes.htm ? They are a lot cheaper than the likes of Fiamma and, if no drilling is required in order to fix it to a bike rack, I may be tempted to buy one. I assume they don't have all that wording on them like the one in their photo!

It might be practical but in my opinion ( for what that is worth) it is far from pretty and is probably cheap for a reason!

I am going to get a box to go on the bike rack (now I am a PV owner and need space!!) and could be tempted as being fabricated they have possibly more usable space.  In addition they are in Gods Country just the other side of the big hill so not far to come.
Thanks for the link

I've got a Fiamma box still for sale, may still be in the for sale section. Reduced to £60, collection only.

smile!  Which model is it Paul? Will it fit my Fiamma bike rack? Is it in good condition? (sorry, I couldn't find your advert)

We'll be traveling through Flintshire on Saturday 28th May, so perhaps I could collect it en route.

The adverts seem to have had a clear out.
The box is not white but cream and has lost lacquer on top. It's the 360 model, dimensions copied from an EBay ad

Dimensions open: 1470mm (L) x 800mm (W) x 1000mm (H).
Dimensions closed: 1470mm (L) x 380mm (W) x 650mm (H).

I only have a couple of brackets with it.
I'm not home until Sunday so can't post photos till then.
Someone else has PM'd about it who may view it early next week, will keep you informed.

The other interested party has said it's too wide for him so I'll post photos when I get home Sunday and you can see what it's like.

For my part, I refuse to pay the extortionate prices for rear boxes so made my own.
Some may not like the idea of a metal box, but being an engineer it doesn't bother me.

One of the attractions of the Spacesava Ali box was its shape, like yours Celticbiker it has the square build and therefore more usable space inside than the moulded plastic ones.  Need to make my mind up soon (for hols)

@ Groundhog
Thanx, cost me nothing but if I had to price it, it would be about 100 quid.

@Bobskate
Not the lakes, no.
It was actually Loch Ness.

Thanks Celticbiker. Looks a really good place to stop. We are off to Nothumberland in a few weeks. Lock Ness just that bit too far. Maybe another time.
