At Christmas there was always a pomegranate in my stocking; and it had to be eaten one pip at a time with a pin!

Last winter in Spain I had a major guilt trip (and expected a "clump" at the back of the head) every time I "shelled" a pomegranate and ate the pips by the handful with juice running down my chin!

Derbyshire wasn't exactly the centre of the Universe for seafood but my Mum would often come back from Mansfield market with a bag of crabs legs for me as a treat! Armed with a toffee hammer (remember those?) and a hair-grip, extracting the minuscule amounts of meat from a bag of crabs legs would take me the best part of an afternoon!
