iNet box Empty iNet box

Post by Unhappylad Wed Mar 06, 2024 8:53 pm

Hi.

I've got a iNet box in the cupboard above the fridge on a 2019 Nuevo ES.

It's a nightmare to insert a SIM card as it's fixed close to the ceiling.

Any tips ?

Can’t you simply unscrew it to give better access?
Moving off topic, I can’t believe the way A/S fit so many things in a build with no thought to future maintenance/access. I’ve heard of so many similar issues on here over the years.

As this is something that is rarely used I can’t imagine anyone would want to spend much money on the SIM so I went for a PAYG sim.
Unfortunately, this means taking it out of the iNet box and putting it in your phone every 90 days and making a call otherwise the SIM is suspended.
Unless you’ve got very small hands this is virtually impossible.
To unscrew the iNet box regularly is a problem as you have to take everything out of the cupboard, then you have to gain access with the cupboard door open which is tricky.
Can’t relocate it as the wire is quite short.
I should have mentioned it to Autosleepers when I went for my habitation check.
Probably the number of Nuevo owners using this option is small so has never been mentioned before on this forum.

Also moving off topic – might you be referring to the cutlery drawer not being able to open fully unless the habitation door is also open ?
One of a long list of issues we found when it was new.

I used a pair of tweezers to line it up and then managed to click it home but it’s not easy. Regarding the sim, I have a cheap ASDA one but don’t have to take it out, just simply send a message to the inet box once a month so that it’s seen as being in use. Has worked fine like this for the last 5 years.

iNet box Empty Sorted

I noticed that when you send an instruction to the iNet box it sends back a confirmation text.

My service provider confirmed that this is sufficient to keep the account going.

So I just need to make sure I use it every 90 days.

I have had my sim in inet box over 5 years, never had to top it up and message inet box twice a month to check on batteries
