Pollensa gearbox synchro problem

Pollensa 2000 reg gearbox is in need of repair. We’ve been told it’s possibly the synchros but it seems impossible to find a garage that will do it! All saying parts are not available. Would a new engine be cheaper or does anyone know of somewhere that fixes them? Merseyside area.

I'm not sure why you would need a new engine for a gearbox problem.  

What is your vehicle, Peugeot or Ford? Knowing the make and model of the base vehicle will help folk to come up with suggestions and, hopefully, help you get sorted. Good luck.

Not local but they will ship. At the very least, they will be able to confirm or deny the "parts not available" response.

Did you have any luck with your gearbox? I’ve had the same issue for years but put up with it, but it needs replacing. I’ve also been told the same advice.
