Gas Hob Ignition not Connected
Hi Everyone,
We have a Nuevo EL 62 plate
The spark ignition on the gas hob wasn't working so I've removed the hob unit. It sits above the fridge.
It wasn't working because the cables aren't connected!
I've taken the oven out to look at the spark igniter unit and it doesn't have any spare connections. It just has two, one for the oven and one for the grill.
Here it is.
In the corner of the unit, under where the hob sits, is a hole with a grommet which I guess the ignition cable are supposed to be through.
Does anyone know if there is another spark igniter unit behind the fridge?
I can't see how to get the fridge out, I think the whole worktop must have to come off.
So, I thought I'd ask for some advice before I dismantled the lot, just to find there isn't another unit behind there.
Cheers,
Al

Re: Gas Hob Ignition not Connected
Decided to bite the bullet and remove the worktop.
That big cream coloured grommet goes in to a black flexible pipe which goes down behind the fridge and straight through the floor to outside.
I popped the grommet in to the plastic pipe so that you could see it in the picture.
So, ignition cables don't go through there.
I think I'll Google Thetford spare parts and see if there's a wiring harness I'm missing.
There's also the issue of not having a spare connector on the spark ignition unit.
I'm wondering if the oven has been replaced and the new oven came with a spark unit that didn't have capacity to supply the hob.

Re: Gas Hob Ignition not Connected
Some of these ignition units use AA batteries, have you checked for these, was it working before and just stopped or is this a new van to you as some also don’t have an ignition on the hob
