New Fiat Empty New Fiat

Post by CJ1949 Tue Apr 25, 2023 9:45 am

Finally got my new Broadway after 15 months delay. Unlike Mercs Fiat only gives a 2 year warranty.
Wondering anybody knows how much it costs & is it worth it?

Apologies if this subject may have been discussed before.

Ah, the sub heading which doesn’t show here states “Extending Fiat warranty”.

I’ve no idea how much but my experience of Fiats suggests the more warranty you have, the better.  [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

It will also depend how comprehensive that warranty extension is as so many of them have major exclusions as the vehicle gets older.

Do you have to decide now or can you make that call in two years time?

Hi
If you go for the Fiat extended 3 year warranty it must be done WITHIN the first 2 weeks of registration.

When we were considering a Fiat auto a couple of years ago I looked into the extended warranty. I can't remember the costs but you could extend it to 3 years or to 5 years. I do remember that the extension to 5 years was prohibitive in cost. Dealers seemed to know little about it but they have to do it for you.   I did speak to a very helpful person in Fiat Italy about it.

As far as I can recall the quote we received to extend the warranty (and declined) was in the region of £900 for the additional 3rd year!!
Didn't even consider the 5 year option.
However, the "Fiat Camper Assist" cover is for 3 years for UK registered vehicles - which is good.
Servicing is at 30K miles or every 2 years and the quoted cost is circa £700 - which is not very good!
For us - all future servicing will be with a reputable local and hopefully cheaper garage.

It’s unfortunate that only Fiat dealers have the ability to update software during a service.

Tbh, when we had our 140 auto Ducato we didn’t think the service price was too horrendous given that it’s every 2 years.
