Tow Bar type

Hi - I'm new to the forum so apologies if this is posted in the wrong place.
I have just taken delivery of a new Nuevo EK (22 model). I asked the dealer to fit a towbar prior to delivery and was told they couldn't do it as it needed a chassis extension that would foul the retractable step. They said the one they were trying to fit was a Witter - but according to their website they do not manufacture one for the Nuevo so no idea what they were trying to do.
I have seen Nuevo's with towbars so am wondering if anyone has had one fitted and if so what type it is.

Check Watling Towbars website,  there you will find an extensive list of motorhome towbar and it shows if extensions are required .

The VLM5 unit under your cooker is ready to feed the towing electrics so its a rum one if a tow bar can't be fitted.

Thanks guys - have contacted Tow Trust and waiting for a reply but will try Watling as well. Fingers crossed.

Highly recommend Watling Engineering. They did a great job on our Winchcombe.

Hi - we had a tow-bar fitted to our 2017 Nuevo last year as we wanted to tow our motorbike on a trailer. The company (Tow-bars UK) did a great job - no extensions required. Only took a couple of hours. Unfortunately we are in North Devon so wrong part of the country for you but you could give them a ring and ask what tow-bar they would recommend : 01884 820888.

Thanks to all of you for your replies and suggestions. I’ve now established that both Tow Trust and Watling do an off the shelf bar that is made for the Nuevo. Might need to re-site the corner steadies but will now look for a place to get them fitted.

You might want to remove your rear corner steadies all together as they are not essential and it will help compensate for the mass of the tow bar.  Each corner steady weighs about 6.6kg.

Hi - pleased that you have got your tow-bar sorted. We removed the rear steadies on our Nuevo (2017) - we never used them (never even had them on our previous Nuevos!) and waaaay to much fuss to even bother with. Saved weight and sold the pesky little devils on eBay with no problem at all.   Enjoy your travels.
