Boxer software update
Dear all,
The Caravan club has an 10% discount offer on for Witter Towbars.
Mine is a Warwick XL 2018
I went to order, and the Witter site says a software coding update is advised, at £72.
Does anyone have any knowledge of this, whether or not it's an absolute requirement, and what benefits it offers?
Many thanks anticipation
Happy camping
Keith

Re: Boxer software update
I know absolutely nothing about this but found this on pfjones website...
All Peugeot Boxer Van models will not require coding.
Coding is used to update your vehicles software in order for it to run coherently with the new towbar through the dedicated electrics."
And to confirm that here is screenshot of their Witter towbar listing...

"Coding
This is the coding of the ECU to accept the dedicated system, this updates your vehicles software to run smoothly with the new towbar. All Peugeot Boxer Van models will not require coding.

Re: Boxer software update
Hi
These software updates usually mean that the base vehicle recognises, when a trailer is plugged in, it will usually turn off
the vehicle rear fog light, show a dash warning when a trailer light is defective.
Regards
Alan
