We own a VW Topaz and have had it for about 8yrs. We’ve used it for day trips and wish to break our duck and go away in it.

Welcome to this friendly and extremely helpful Forum.

I suspect that the first time you say a few nights in the Topaz, it will be a little irritating because you'll discover the need for various items which you didn't pack, and you'll get to grips with aspects of the van which you've not used hitherto (e.g. putting out the beds). You may want to compile a list of what's needed, for when you return home.

But from your second trip on, you'll find that it's very relaxing when on site (No lawn to mow, no jobs around the house etc). And you'll regret having waited 8 years before going away in the van!

As Sam I Am says, Try it: you will like it! You will see!

Thank you Cymro,
We’ve been trying to think ahead these last few months. We bought a drive away awning and are in the process of fettling up our old trailer; the van came with a tow bar!! We are a few cushions short for the bed layout and will be asking the forum for help with photos and dimensions to enable us to make new ones.

Clive & Gill.
