Drainer bracket fallen off, recommend a glue?
Can anyone recommend a glue suitable for attaching a flat metal plate to a glass surface?
Thanks

It’s a new van so I would ask either AS or the dealer to send you some glue.

In my opinion it's one of the dafter "innovations" of recent years.
(Tin hat on, as loads of others pontificate about how useful it is!!

I suppose the drainer could be useful when washing up in the loft. Do you use the overflow tank for that?? [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Sorry ours is still stuck after 6 years. Brand new, get the dealer to fix it.DavidinDevon wrote:Thanks, Tinwheeler. But I’m not impressed with the glue used by AS either.

Ignore the comments given, we use ours every time we wash up, one of the better bits

( Seven years later and ours is still firmly stuck and used every day for at least 5 months of the year so they must have been able to use a good glue in 2013)

It’s applied with a skeleton gun and isn’t cheap unless you have other bonding tasks you can use it on in a reasonably short period. See first link below.
The second link is from the same manufacturer but discusses their glass to metal product. I don’t have experience of it and would recommend CT1 because it has wide application, so you could use it elsewhere before it goes off.

Ssjohnl, my first instinct was Araldite but I was put by the fact that if you ever needed to stick it again, you couldn’t get rid of the remaining Araldite except by burning it off!

This week however I persuaded them to supply the missing wifi router! Well they said they would, I don’t actually have it yet. But I have every confidence!

Best of luck, I actually did not find them too bad at Lower Upham when I had the Topaz, but that was 14 years ago before the management things.DavidinDevon wrote:The dealer is Marquis.

Ours is stored in the same location together with the plate rack, bottle holder and crystal glasses.Tinwheeler wrote:Wow, you actually use the drainer? Ours lives in the loft.
It’s a new van so I would ask either AS or the dealer to send you some glue.

We keep the glasses in the cabinet in our lounge at home and they sparkle nicely in the light.Wide-Awake wrote:Ours is stored in the same location together with the plate rack, bottle holder and crystal glasses.Tinwheeler wrote:Wow, you actually use the drainer? Ours lives in the loft.

The last lot of crockery was horrible and that's also in the loft along with the big table and surplus scatter cushions, plus the plate rack, bottle clips and table leg clip - that one's a right arm ripper [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
