Hello everyone. wave

In the next couple of weeks I will be collecting a 2000 (W) VW Topaz and looking forward to the freedom it will give us. I haven't many of my own images of it yet but here's a teaser from when I viewed it on Monday. I've added an image of my other set-up, Matilda, my 1970 Morris Minor Traveller and 'WOT' the Puck taken last week on the A66 as we returned from Scotland.

Hi and welcome to the forum. A handsome Morris Traveller there: we had several back in the days when they were cheap and plentiful. Before moving on to the luxury of a motorhome we used to kip in the back of my old Morris Minor van.

Hi from the top right corner of Lincolnshire but originally the West Ridng.
We looked at the Topaz before buying our Duetto. Nice van but missed a few points for us. It would have had less rust issues than the Duetto we bought but that’s in the past.
The Morris Minor Traveler was used for driver training during my time in the army. I drove one as a staff car for a short time. It was fun trying to get a large WRAC officer out of the back when she had been in the mess and downed a few. She would not sit in the front.
My foreman at the bus garage had a lovely pale blue traveler. He used to rust proof it when I was on shifts as duty fitter at the weekend.

Hello Skeena
My Topaz sends warm greetings to your Topaz ... and my very first car was a Morris Van, bright yellow, ex-post office.  I'll not forget the day it breathed in to squeeze past a flying post jaguar on a steep hill near home! nor the day it's gearbox sort of fell apart and I had to drive 7 miles in 1st - late home to Sunday lunch! not approved of! Hope you enjoy your Topaz as much as I do mine.

I'd like to thanks all for the warm welcome. I'm still waiting for the van to be put through the MOT, service & habitation check. Being a camper/motorhome specialist they are very busy with vans etc flying out off the forecourt. Once it's in my grubby hands I'll post some more shots and set up a travelog elsewhere on the forum. up!

We picked up our Topaz today. Here it is with the Ribblehead Viaduct in the background. Plenty to get on with getting it as we want it. May have to consider a name...

It was raining most of the way home but today it has brightened up. We managed to take it over the North York Moors today on one of our regular local runs.

A loo with a view! For those less in tune with nature the door and blind can be closed... hugegrins
