thetford door 5 leak Empty thetford door 5 leak

Post by Guest Thu Oct 08, 2020 3:10 pm

Whilst sitting in the van sheltering from some fierce rain we noticed some rain dripping door the locker door.
Not sure what to do, the seal looks ok, but may be old and the problem
The design looks poor, I mean who put screwholes on a seal surface?
The door does look to bow a bit at the top so Im not surprised it leaks.

Not sure whether to get a seal, but if this is wasting money if the door is old and possibly warped
Get a whole new door
Take a pragmatic view and put a draught excluder foam strip along the seal face.

Anyone from experience had this?

Many thanks[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

We had damp issues under the locker door frame on our Rienza. At the time I thought it was the locker door requiring adjusting. The repairers said there is no adjustment and as long as the seal is still soft and not split it should not be leaking.
They had to remove the door frame to carry out the repairs and have re sealed it to the body when it was re fitted.
Not sure about your layout but it was thought the damp came from a leaking window seal rather than the locker door. The window had to be re sealed when we first bought the Rienza.
