Having changed a few years ago from Caravan Club to C&CC , it is now leaving the C&Cc network from 2nd January. Does anyone know if it's reverting to Caravan Club (now CAMC) or going private, municipal or perhaps closing?

You can see from this link that there is a tendering process for the management of the site. Deadline 15th November.

So the C&CC have given up without trying to secure the lease.

I tried to book it for April and was told negotiations were still in progress.

The announcement is in the latest C&CC mag.
(Along with Luss site and not having a Feast of Lanterns next year.)

I can't find any reference in the October Mag - have you got November already? The site was expanded in August - don't know who paid for that?

On reflection this notice could well be part of the negotiation as is the very late invitation to tender. New contract awarded no earlier than mid December then xmas and a start date of 6 Jan - not many organisations could do that and announcing the withdrawal of C£CC in their magazine gets the negotiations out in public with the local population a-la Baltic Wharf a few years ago.

In March 2019 the CC&C club applied to extend the site by 27 spaces and it appeared the council were happy to give permission. Does any one know what happened between March and now. I know they have bought two other sites in the area, is that something to do with it?

C&CC stop operating the site today and new operator due to start Monday. No info found on who new operator is or if C&CC have had a rethink. I e-mailed the council mid December but no reply!

Caravan Talk report that CAMC have taken back the lease and will reopen in May after some refurbishment. On Swifttalk, it reports that C&CC have renewed and will reopen in April after refurbishment. Take your pick. !!!

I'd hoped to stay there end March- beginning April so that seems a no no now. I've been trying to ring the old c&cc site phone but no one answers.

Latest C&CC 2020 site supplement just dropped through the letterbox. On club updates it states " a new Lake District Club Site from mid 2020". I wonder???

Edit - I've just realised that neither of the two new sites acquired in 2018, namely Scotgate and Braithwaite Bridges, are mentioned in the new supplement, so it's probably one of those after refurbishment.

New tendering document with new deadline which may suggest that there was no interest in the previous advert.

Last invitation was for a manager, this is for a tenant - a much better prospect for the big two.

Just seen on another forum............

"the CCC has now renewed the lease and the site will be added to the booking sections on the web site in a few months after all work is completed, one issue is with the electricity supply connecting the new pitches as it was constantly tripping at the end of last season."

The poster of this saw a warden on the site and got into conversation with him.
