New ASOC Website

John has just launched the new web site and imo done an excellent job - Well Done John

As a new Auto-Sleepers owner, what's the difference between Auto-Sleepers Owners Club and Auto-Sleepers Owners Forum?

The owners club doesn't have a forum. That was the reason for this forum being started, they are independent of each other. The owners club has annual fee and holds rallies, the forum is free and does not hold rallies. Many members of this forum are also members of the owners club (me included).

Oh right, so they're two completely separate entities?

Yes they are separate but we have 3 or 4 that I know of ASOC committee members including the Chairman members on  here

I AMA member of `the au`tosleeper owners club and have tried to enter the new website but cannot see how to enter the site,cam anyone help

I had same problem and checked with John Morris. He said member login not yet available.

I like the look of it - very neat and clear.

I wonder if the Technical Articles will be available on-line now - obviously to members only. It has always seemed a bit mediaeval to me that they were only available as paper copies. Hope they have caught up with the 20th century, at least! 

It’s a good idea Dave but depends how much space they have.  Going a bit further as an easier option that could be considered is converting these docs to say pdf files so they could be emailed.  As the new chair of the technical group is one of our members we may get a comment after Dennis has had chance to settle in to the job

That would work well Roger - and probably a better idea. Certainly a lot easier for them to handle.

Technical articles have been available as a pdf to any member that requests them.

And all for £20 a year a must for Autosleeper owners

As the said new Chairman of the technical group, I can confirm that the Ideas Sheets and more will, eventually appear in the Members section of the website for members to view and download as required. It is a work in progress and may take a while, but that is where we are heading with it.

Baz used to send them to me by email, as I recall.

Dennis sends them email for the time being.

As I understand it, when the member area goes live, you will need to subscribe to access the username and password. The information will appear in ASOC News when it goes live. No subscribe, means no access.

I appear to have subscribed and there was no charge involved.

I am a member of ASOC, so that's presumably why I can access the site - or will be able to when it's up and running.

No argument with that. Can't expect to get access to the information on the website which has always been available only to members.

The only difference is that members will soon be able to access most of the information and data sheets online, which is great!! 

Dave is correct. As a member, you subscribe to the on-line version of the Newsletter and there is no extra charge. You already paid your subs and it is covered in that. Similarly, when we get the tech stuff up there, there will be no charge to members for that service.
