ASOC Whitemead Rally

If any of you come to the ASOC rally at Whitemead next week, do look me up, say hello and let me know you are a Forum member.

I bet yours is not the only van with one

We just spent three nights at Whitemead (parked on the Dell) and cycling back onto the site t'other day I was amazed to see The Meadow chock-a-block with motorhomes.
Curiosity got the better of me the next day and cycling around, it suddenly dawned on me that they were all A/Ss. One chap was putting his bikes away so I asked him if it was an ASOC Rally and he confirmed my suspicions. When he asked me what I'd got I confessed to being an ex-ASOC member and also ex A/S owner but told him that I was still a contributor to this forum.
Only later did I think that I should have sought Peter out to introduce myself and thank him for past (and future, hopefully) assistance. Sorry Peter.
The weather gods were smiling on you though, as the forecast rain didn't really materialise, so hope you enjoyed your time there.

Peter, sorry, I also mean't to come and introduce myself.  It was only on Friday when I realised that there were a lot of A/S vans passing through Lydney that the penny dropped.  Later I saw my son who works at Whitemead.  Apparently he spent the week looking (in the dark, he works nightshifts there) for one like his dad's (a Legend).

Always an excellent location with the site and village facilities as well as the Forest. A bonus that the railway was running a full service on Wednesday and the weather very kind.

Back to reality now, with a lot of catching up to do.
