Adult only sites Empty Adult only sites

Post by Paulmold Sun Aug 14, 2016 6:51 pm

We've used quite a few THS"s over the last couple of years and enjoyed them all. We are on the first we have used during main school holidays. There is a lot to be said for adult only sites/cl"s/CS's.  Families also don't seem able to camp on their own, they arrive in groups of 3 or 4 families together. We have here at least 30 kids from 3 groups, who together with the obligatory footballs run around screaming all day. Thankfully they are all quiet at night.
I've only been retired two months and already a paid up member of the grumpy old men's club.

If hole is meant to be whole does that mean that GOFs is meant to be GOTHs?  scratch head

It's the reason we don't tend to go away between our longer breaks abroad.  When we do, we use AO sites. Went to one a few weeks ago and it was blissfully quiet.  That was a CL.

To be fair, I've still got a fair old bit of time before I can retire and my wife say's I'm a grumpy old git anyway ;)

As we don't have kids, I prefer the adult sites too. We went to a nice one near Ely recently that has chickens freeranging around the site (interesting with dogs around too) and was notably quieter.

As you say though, usually the kids (on the most part) go quiet when it gets late so I don't mind "normal" sites too much either, but nice to go out of season too.

"I love children, but I can't eat a whole one"  hugegrins  so try to avoid sites where they are staying often making a racket bawling their eyes out and screaming especially the little girls. Children only ever seeming to play football is another gripe I have. I don't blame the children though its the change in attitude of most parents and grandparents that makes sites with families unbearable these days. Not all it is true but decidedly the majority have no control over their little darlings, who in their eyes can do no wrong. What ever happened to 'children should be seen but not heard' and chldren who play quietly? Thank God for places they do not go and are not allowed, so good grumpy old folk can enjoy sitting reading and relaxing and enjoying an afternoon nap undistrubed! snoozing

why can't they play quietly on their Smart phones like good little children.

I must admit that once we discovered adult only sites they are normally our first choice.

Adult only sites for us as much as possible....one way to stop the adult child and their brood visiting in their [small] tent as we see plenty of them when we are at home! [we love them to bits...but in bite size time frames...]
