Hi, I'm Laura
On walkabout and looking for a camper - not yet an owner.  I joined this forum as the Autosleeper is a style I like.

Hoping to pick up some tips as why and what model would be best for a single non-mechanically and budget - minded female wanting a tidy and tiny home on wheels for extended trips in UK and Europe - and beyond?

I am a lady owner and have a Clubman, started off with a Topaz but wanted more comfort and room, still the same base vehicle which I love ,it is economical, on fuel, tax and insurance compared to my Volvo estate I use to have, use my van as my everyday vehicle in place of a car. it`s a joy to drive.
Hope you find your ideal van for you.
Regards,
Margaret

Hi Laura

Welcome to the forum.  Being a single lady with a single household income I went for a Trophy, the older sibling of the Topaz.  It has everything a larger mh has (except perhaps space!) but sensibly sized enough to be my only vehicle so was able to cut the additional expense of car ownership.

Part of the fun of ownership is choosing your ideal vehicle ... enjoy looking  allthumbz

Hello from Surrey.

The first important thing is to work out your budget. Whatever it is it probably won't be enough, you can always find that one that is slightly more <whatever> but it is also worth getting as close to budget as possible. Bargains can be found if you know what you are looking for. I clearly don't know that as I haven't found a bargain yet.

One (other) thing to consider (as mentioned above) - is this going to be your only vehicle? If you have access to another it might make more sense to go for a slightly larger van if you intend to stay in it for extended trips. Our Transit panel van seemed big enough for us until we did just over three weeks in it last year. It was big enough but a little more room would have made a lot of difference.

If this will be your only vehicle you may prefer something slightly more compact that makes town centre driving more bearable.

And when you have found your ideal van, get out there and enjoy it. allthumbz
