Yes. I have booked St Ives (great rally) and hope to go to Prestwood Steam Fair, Winchester, and of course the Burnham carnival rally...a must if you have never been. Bob

Well the ASOC Burton rally this week has been cancelled due to pub car park being flooded so we are going to CC High Onn Site

That shouldn't flood but watch out for Nissen hut foundations in the dog walk.

St Ives is just down the road from me, never been to a rally in 20 plus years of motorhoming, what will be the welcome if I just rock up to have a look at what goes on and say hello to a few here....

I think the only one we will make is the ACCEO AGM as most if the others within 'reasonable geographic distances from Filey' seem to clash with other things I can't get out of

Forthcoming rallies
Hi all, I'm trying to find a list of forthcoming rallies, can someone point me in the right direction.
How do I apply to join a rally?
I'm interested in rallies in Scotland and the north of England.
Dave

Re: ASOC Forthcoming Rallies
I take it you are not in ASOC, so 1st you need to join then look at the ASOC web site in rally lists. There are other ASOC members reasonably close to you (Frederic on here is 1) and also a fair number of ASOC members who come on here.
Dave I think I have met you once when we were on a rally in SW Scotland near to you.
Of interest maybe there is a rally in September at Castle Douglas followed by a 5 site rally in Scotland

Morning Roger, yes we met in the brewery in Castle Douglas. I'm trying to discover where future rallies are listed on the AOSC web site.
I joined the AOSC after meeting you all at the last rally over in the park in CD in 2011. Pleas let me know where to look on the site Roger and how to apply to join a particular rally.
Regards Dave.

Rally details are only given in the monthly ASOC Newsletter that you receive when you join the club.

Re: ASOC Forthcoming Rallies
I've considered joining myself but could you tell me if rallies are booked up quickly. Obviously I can get the dates from the list as above but how far in advance are details given and can they be booked before the details are released?

Re: ASOC Forthcoming Rallies
There are exceptions for foreign rallies and when a marshal may be away from home, but the detail of rallies is advertised in the Newsletter, that arrives around the first of each month, 2-3 months before the date of the rally. To ensure that every club member has an equal chance of gaining a place on a rally, applications can only be made by post after the full details are published in the Newsletter. Acceptance for the rally is based on the order in which applications are received.
Many rallies have a limit on numbers either because a commercial site will only let a certain number of pitches or because of size constraints of a rally site such as a school yard. The rallies are all chosen and run by volunteer club members and every year some new rallies will appear in the programme and others disappear. It is impossible to predict year on year how popular any particular rally will be.
The best chance of success in obtaining a place on a rally is to be aware which Newsletter it will be advertised in and watch for the Newsletter. As soon as the Newsletter arrives, transfer the details to a rally application slip, add a cheque and first class stamp and head for the nearest main post box, ideally next to a sorting office. If you know you won't be at home to receive the Newsletter you can have it delivered by e-mail but that may arrive a day or so after the posted one. An alternative is to ask a fellow club member who will be at home to make the application for you.
A few rallies are located on sites with no space limitations and flexible payment arrangements with the landlord. On those rallies any one who applies right up to the start of the rally can be accommodated.
