Thursford Spectacular
Has anyone attended the Thursford Spectacular, and Christmas Show? Is it worthwhile attending? Did anyone stay on a campsite, if so, which one?
Would any of the Rally Marshalls out there, prepared to hold a Rally nearby?
Regards
Pete & Pauline

Re: Thursford Spectacular
Hi Happy Motorhomers,
We have been to the Thursford Spectacular several times now and have always enJoyed it very much. When you book your seats I would recommend you try and get onto the end of a row and bear in mind that there are some pillars holding up the roof. Try and get in front of them if you can.
We live in Norwich so have no experience of staying near there to advise you with, sorry about that. We look forward to hearing how you get on, enjoy yourself.

Re: Thursford Spectacular
I'd never heard of it but it looks interesting. At that time of year you need hard standing at least so the C&CC site at West Runton would be a good bet (15 miles from the show).
The C&CC will allow rallies for 10 vans and more but the sensible thing is to aim for numbers of attendees to fill a coach. The marshal would have to arrange coach and tickets for show.
For any ASOC member who lived locally and wanted a rally that was easy to manage (no hassle with pitching and services on a commercial site) this would be a good starter.
The down side is the potential for the weather to be problematical and the location off the beaten track.

Re: Thursford Spectacular
We have been to Thursford a number of times and it is always a wonderful show. Strangely enough I had mentioned to hubby about going this year and staying over in the motorhome! You can often get pairs of tickets but if there is a large group/club wishing to go then normally you
have to book a year in advance. I'm sure there are a number of sites nearby.
