Hi I've owned my 1988 Talisman for 17 years its had periods of being laid up due to lack of use last lay up must be 4 years Id say will have to look at old tax disc. Its looking a bit sorry for its self at moment but Ive never wanted to part with it .This year brought an old Lwb hi top Transit camper with diy conversion for £1250 to try a van type conversion to do a trip to Italy with my Vespa scooter on a rear rack to a scooter rally .Idea was give it a go either sell when got home or do up Talisman sell that .I did a slight alteration to van to create space trip went well no breakdowns and have since altered it slightly again and been down to south coast taking grandson and I do actually like the van .Then the bombshell when dropping off grand son my son wants us to go 50/50 on refurbing Talisman and go 50/50 on running costs. They have had another baby 6 months old and he wants to start taking them away.So basically I think it will be refurb the Talisman during next year as and when he's free then sell the Transit .My wife prefers Talisman as it has better interior and shower room I prefer the transit to drive as its more stable on the road and diesel so more economical but sons on about putting air ride suspension on getting front resprayed so it will look better than the transit .Question is will he come up with the cash or will it be bank of mum and dad footing the bill.Im sure will get money back on transit easily will probably sell next summer .Im planning another euro trip as Im 60 next June hope fully can get mechanical stuff on Talisman sorted by then get it MOT'd Ive got a complete set of engine mounts and complete exhaust to go on it .Im off to get some petrol in the morning start the old girl up I did start it regularly till it ran out .Julian

Just add not working now will be bit of a hobby along with my scooters
