A little introduction Empty A little introduction

Post by diamondr Thu Jan 10, 2013 9:14 pm

HI This is my first post and would just like to give a little introduction about myself after loads of research I bought my first motor home last July a 2000 VW autosleeper Topaz and so far have just been to Somerset and the New Forest and i can tell you this i just love it My name is Robert Diamond (no relation) and i am 62 and winding up for my future, having hired a transit motor home way back when i was about 19 or so for a trip to the lakes i always new i would have one oneday i have done all the titivateing about with the numerous things you seem to find to do and after reading all the instructions and manuals i think i could now master a long trip I have joined all the clubs although i havent sampled the delights of a caravan club site yet i probably will this year i think they are a little disapointed in me as they send me these emails trying to tempt me, but i did get cheaper insurance I am pretty practical as i have been in the electrical industry as a self employed person all my life so may contribute my pennys worth in the forums from time to time although ithink it will be mainly me that is asking for the sollusions Today though i did learn my first lesson do not take your lovely motor home to one of those hand car wash places by the time those enthusiastic hard working Polish chaps have finished with there HIGH pressure water blasters (four handed at one point) there is not a lot left of your pretty decal in my case blasted to all parts of the garage forcourt with fear of my life i did manage to negotiate a discount Thankyou for letting me into your club and i am sure i will find lots of usefull information as wel as trying to contribute myself
Regards Robert

Hi there,

Welcome from a rather chilly Skegness! cold

Thanks for the warning! There are "four Polish chaps" in every town tearing things to shreds in the name of "Hand Wash"! tap_fingers

Best regards,

Hi Robert.

Welcome to the forum from Nottinghamshire. I'm sure your van will look even better when you have fitted some new decals.
A phone call to AS should get you some replacements.

Cheers. Whisky. champagne

Hi Robert

Welcome from a chilly Dymchurch on the Kent coast. I am relatively new to The Forum but can tell you there is a wealth of knowledge and experience available here.
