My friend just took his old VW LT35 camper for it's mot test.
It failed. The reason being "The fuel cap is not secure, and the wrong type".
So he goes and asks the tester to show him the problem, as it's the original cap, so it's been that way all it's life.
Yup, you guessed it. It was the water tank cap he'd failed it on.
Scary isn't it?

No - it was the garage that was lucky. If your friend had reported the incident then I would expect the testing stations licence to be reconsidered!

Also true.
I know one garage that got caught out putting a pass on a Land Rover, while it had a trailer on the back. The guy from vosa sat outside and watched them do it! Then went in and shut the tester down.
