About to collect our 22 year old Duetto long wheel base van. Very excited about it. Any advice from other forum members on what to check out when we get it would be helpful. Heard we should check for rust but what else??

Welcome - I hope this doesn't sound unhelpful, but the time to check for rust on a Transit is ~before~ you buy it, not after!

Ha yes good reply. We have already checked for rust. Anything else you would suggest? Obviously we have checked it as thoroughly as possible to see if everything is working and we test drove it.

Not really - I guess that will be one of the last of the Mk5's? I owned one (SWB) for a decade and it was a great van, except for the rust. They often have problems with the fuel injection pump, but mine was fine. Assuming it's a diesel, the only other issue I had was the EGR valve - not a major issue.

Hi there.
Welcome (slightly late, but the sentiment stands).
We bought a 1997 Duetto in April, and it's rock solid. Never going to break any speed records but you should have something fairly bomb proof.
Enjoy!
