Helmsley Empty Helmsley

I have just heard that Ryedale Council are stopping overnight parking in Helmsley from the end of July. I don’t know the reasoning other than rumours about miss use by caravaners . 
Any further information on this matter would be appreciated. It’s been a well used stop over by motorhomes for a while including us and it will be a shame to loose the facility.
