Sites in South Wales?
My daughter and ourselves (4 adults and 2 M/H's) had intended to tour South and Southwest Wales in mid September after the schools had reopened, however it seems it is still going to be very busy, most sites are heavily booked especially around the St David's area, we had thought it might have quietened down but not so, maybe next year. We toured Mid and North Wales a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it. Not a complete washout, at least we found some nice sites around the Cotswolds, somewhere new to visit.

Have you tried the C&MC site at Tredegar House, Newport ? Lovely site in the grounds of NT Tredegar House, buses and shops nearby and lots to do and see. Safe cycle and walking routes in abundance too.

You could also try C&MC site at Pembrey, a nice site on the entrance to the country park. Cycle route along the coast back to Llanelli. In the park there is a long Sandy beach, a ski slope and cafe.
Ring direct to see if they have available spaces.
There is also a camp site within the country park, I think it is run by the local authority. Also very popular.

Re: Sites in South Wales?
Many thanks for all advice given, we had tried some of these sites in our quest to arrange a route touring (in short "hops") along the South Wales coast to St David's and then up the West Coast, staying for 2/3 nights max in one place, most sites heavily or fully booked for the whole of September. Wales, especially the coast is, rightly, very popular and clearly still very busy, inland sites seem more available, We hope, all being well, to make this trip next May/June '22. Regards

Re: Sites in South Wales?
I can confirm that Pembrokeshire is full to bursting.
My two local campsites are rammed full and apparently so too are the newly opened pop-up sites.
I actually spent yesterday afternoon on Newgale beach with my family (the first time 40 years).
It was my idea of hell, although I was enjoying a game of cricket with the grandkids until a short sprint to try and take a neat catch resulted in agony with a strained hamstring. Now I know why those athletes pull up so quick when injuring theirs.
One other thing I discovered yesterday is that there may be water restrictions soon, as Llys-y-fran reservoir is already very low, due to the increase in water consumption by the volume of people in the county.

The CAMC site at Aberbran still has availability. Its a small no facilities site and very quiet. Good walking into the Beacons to the South and there is a decent walk to be had to Brecon or you can catch the bus. It was our first site after lockdown. Morrisons supermarket in Brecon was OK for the motorhome but nowhere near its petrol station.

Love that little Aberbran site. Run by volunteers, sited on an old railway line, so long narrow site with platform still there.
Actually a lot of availability throughout the Wales CAMC sites, this is availability next week taken just now..

Re: Sites in South Wales?
there is a little hidden gem of a caravan site in the village of Trefin just short of St David's,
Great short walk through the village via the pub ( if you should so wish) and you can walk the coastal cliff tops.
You could practice your golf putting !! on the manicured grass pitches. Very nice Gentleman owner.
